The Headquarters of Stäubli Electrical Connectors are situated in Allschwil, a suburb of Basel, and is part of the Stäubli Group.

In connection with their growth strategy they offer a fascinating possibility to actively take part in the development of the company and its modular product portfolio.

Head of Product Management (Industrial Connectors), 100%


  • Accountable for the Modular Product Portfolio basket with the Rectangular Modular Connectors lines as a main focus and priority. The MOD Portfolio also includes the Industrial Portfolio and other adjacent lines
  • Have a global impact in defining and driving the MOD portfolio strategy as well as planning and executing the MOD product portfolio roadmap for the short, medium and long term, necessary to bring the MOD portfolio to a leadership market position according to set targets

 Major Accountabilities

  • Owns and manages all aspects of the product portfolio development, including market assessment, customer demand, pricing strategy, product life cycle and go-to-market strategy
  • Leads, develops, and manages the Product Managers’ Team, initially consisting of 3-4 people. Mentors the team and continues to improve their competences
  • Together with the Head of Sales MOD, helps to shape the international organization of MOD product specialists worldwide
  • Works together with the respective Product Manager and Business Developers to give directions and goals to the local Product Specialists MOD worldwide
  • Elaborates and defines the MOD product portfolio vision and strategy
  • Defines and develops the product roadmap within the MOD portfolio and the necessary business cases to support product development projects. Ensures the product portfolio covers local customers‘ needs
  • With the support of the PM team, defines the different product portfolio tactics to achieve the MOD strategy and goals as well as all related activities (product-market positioning & fit, go-to-market strategy, lifecycle management)
  • Together with the responsible Product Manager, defines the MOD pricing and positioning strategy
  • Works very closely with the engineering department, sales, marketing, and other departments to deliver the products into the market
  • Monitors trends to identify customer needs and possible technological disruptions. Conducts thorough competitive research and produces a clear competitive landscape picture with plan of action for influencing strategic product planning
  • Identifies new market/business opportunities and strategic partnerships to complete and/or expand the MOD product basket
  • Participates in local trade shows and key client visits in support of the units; provides technical and commercial expertise
  • Ensures customer proximity and analyses customer satisfaction
  • Ensures the monitoring of the product portfolio success through KPIs and product cockpits and communicates these to the upper Management and Business Development
  • Uses KPIs and Cockpit tools to support the Business Developer setting up business development directions and/or corrective action plans to achieve the set goals
  • Continuously improves Product Management Methodic and proactively identifies process and execution bottlenecks. Actively works to resolve them in conjunction with the different departments (Sales, Supply change, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal etc.)
  • Identifies issues in the strategies developed by the (junior) product management and is responsible to resolve these strategic issues
  • Worldwide travel activity (approx. 20%, as soon as the COVID situation permits safe traveling again)


  • Higher education in Marketing or Business Administration with further technical background or Higher engineering degree (Mechanical / Electrical / Business engineer) with further education in Marketing and/or Business administration
  • At least 7 year or relevant product management experience in an international B2B environment
  • Experience in leading a small team of professionals
  • Intensive knowledge of electrical or electronic connectors/applications
  • Broad knowledge of product/portfolio management and practices, and ability to coach others on them
  • English fluent verbally and written, with strong presentation skills
  • German knowledge is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Solid product management skills with strong orientation towards business and performance
  • Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Strong leadership and team building skills. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Ability to closely collaborate and influence teams and individuals from diverse cultures and experiences
  • Willingness for potential traveling worldwide (between 2 and 10 days per trip)
